Wilmot Master Plan Committee – meets again Thursday, May 30th

The Wilmot Planning Board has begun the process of building a committee for preparing the next town master plan. The Master Plan Committee (still in the gathering members phase) will have it’s second meeting on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 6:30 pm at the Wilmot Town Office, 9 Kearsarge Valley Road, Wilmot, NH 03287. Members of the public are encouraged to attend!

The committee is looking for additional members, so please contact Bill Chaisson, Property and Land Use Clerk if you are interested or have questions about the process – property@wilmotnh.org or 603 526 4802. Past Master Plans may be found on this website under the Forms & Docs link on the home page.

ELECT A SECRETARY & REVIEW GROUP AGREEMENT (6:45pm)

DISCUSS THE ADOPTED 2018 WILMOT MASTER PLAN (MP) – Beth (6:50pm)

  • Review the major elements of the plan:
    • Vision
    • Policies
    • Demographics
    • Economic Development
    • Housing Development
    • Conservation & Natural Resources
    • Land Use & Zoning
    • Transportation Infrastructure
    • Utilities & Public Service Infrastructure
    • Town Facilities & Parks and Recreation
    • Local & Regional School & Childcare Facilities
    • Cultural, Historic & Recreational Facilities
  • Discuss Additional Elements that could be added:
    • Natural Hazards and Flooding
    • Regional Concerns
    • Neighborhoods or Centers
    • Implementation
  • Need volunteer leader for each element. Or discuss combining categories and working in teams.
  • Focused discussion on the 2018 MP Community Survey Results, Appendix A, pg 32+ and how the questions relate to the Major Elements of the MP

4. Next Meetings/ Steps (7:25pm)

Collect and Analyze Data on existing conditions material for October Community Engagement MP Visioning Workshop.

  • Future Updates/ discussions from each volunteer element leader.

REVIEW goals, policies, and guidelines of any regional or state plans, as well as those of abutting communities.
