Why do I need a new library card?

The Wilmot Public LIbrary is changing its checkout system to one that is digitized.

The benefits of this new computerized system are:

  • Quicker checkout.
  • More accurate tracking of books in and out of the library.
  • You can reserve books from your phone or computer.
  • Allows patrons to find materials, not only in our collection, but in libraries throughout the state for interlibrary loan.

What happens to my old library card?
You will no longer be able to use it to check out books at the library. You will be issued a new 10-digit number and given a new card the first time you come in to check out books.

Overdrive and Libby
If you are an Overdrive or Libby user, it’s important to come in and get your new card by November 15 to ensure uninterrupted access.

How do I get this new card?
The first time you come in, you will be issued a new card. Or, if you prefer, just give us a call at 526-6804, email us at wilmotlibrary@comcast.net, or write to us at 11 N. Wilmot Road, and we will send you a new card.
