PROPOSED ZONING AMENDMENTS

The Wilmot Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Following the Public Hearing, the Planning Board will decide if a second and final Public Hearing is to be held.

*Note: If the Planning Board votes to hold a 2nd and final Public Hearing it will be Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. online via Zoom using the same meeting ID: 883 4205 2553 as the first hearing. Or dial  929-205-6099. Snow dates for the hearings are, respectively, Thursday, January 25 and Friday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to solicit comments from the public on the proposed zoning amendments to be included on the 2024 Town Meeting ballot for consideration. The full language of each proposed  amendment is available on the Town’s website: www.wilmotnh.org  All are welcome and encouraged to attend the public hearing and/or submit written comments to the Planning Board prior to the public hearing. Written comments submitted to the Town prior to the meeting will be made part of the public record. Please submit written comments to the attention of the Planning Board at PO Box 72, Wilmot, N.H. 03287, or by email to Bill Chaisson, Property/Land-use Clerk, property@wilmotnh.org.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 1: HOME OCCUPATION/COTTAGE INDUSTRY LOCATION

This change is proposed to clarify that a home occupation/cottage industry may be operated only on the same parcel where the business owners’ home is located.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 2: SECOND ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT (ADU)

This change is proposed to allow an additional accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Only one ADU or two ADUs attached to each other may be detached from the primary dwelling.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 3: UPDATE FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE

The N.H. Office of Planning and Development has recommended language to amend Article 15, Section I, Definitions; Section V, Required Documents; Section VIII, Engineering Specifications;  as necessary to comply with requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program. This language must be accepted to remain in the program.
