New housing in Wilmot?

You are invited to an event on Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Wilmot Town Offices, 9 Kearsarge Valley Road. The Wilmot planning board has invited John and Maggie Randolph to give a presentation about their approach to housing development. We hope they can help us address our local shortage of workforce and senior housing.

The Randolphs, a married contractor/architect team, recently built self-financed housing for employees at Harmony Homes, their assisted living facility in Durham. They had been unable to find employees due to lack of housing in the Durham area, so they built apartments on the Harmony Homes campus. They are now able to find and retain employees.

After this success they decided to address the housing shortage in the Dover area. To that end, again financing it themselves, they designed and built a tiny-home development aimed at the 18 to 25 year old demographic. The first phase of the development opened in late October. They have a wait list with a 100 names on it (not all in the target demographic). For more information, see this article in the NH Business Review.
