Wilmot’s Treasurer is an elected official who serves a three-year term. The Treasurer works out of the Board of Selectmen’s Office but is independent of the Board. Wilmot has an appointed Deputy Treasurer to assist the Treasurer in fulfilling her job requirements.
The Treasurer is responsible for:
- Maintaining custody of most non-trust monies within the Town government (i.e. the General Fund, Payroll Account, and Conservation Fund)
- Investing and transferring funds for Town purposes
- Signing checks for disbursements approved by the Selectmen
- Receiving all monies from the Tax Collector, Town Clerk and other Town Departments for deposit
- Reconciling bank accounts
- Complying with the Town’s annual audit
- Producing an annual Treasurer’s Report
