The Wilmot Conservation Commission met at 7 p.m. in the Town Office Building with Chairman Ken Grossman, Vice-Chairman Brian Faughnan, Secretary Janet Howe, and Geoff Lizotte present.
Peter Shauer came before the Commission to review a Dredge and Fill application submitted by his firm on behalf of Mary Howe (Map ) who wishes to replace an old stone culvert on the old Patterson Road with a three-sided box culvert in anticipation of her building a home on that road. Mr. Shauer explained that even though the wetlands impact was only 17 square feet, it involved a perennial stream and, therefore, required a Standard Application. He also pointed out some of the new requirements on these applications. He has notified the Div. of Historical Preservation about the removal of the culvert stones.
A site visit was waived due to the foot of snow now covering the area. Motion was made, seconded, and approved unanimously to authorize the Chairman to write a letter to the DES indicating that the WCC does not wish to intervene in this project.
Budget: Brian had prepared a proposed budget for 2008. It was reviewed, discussed and amended. Motion was made, seconded, and approved unanimously to submit the budget to the Board of Selectmen tomorrow.
Items for next meeting’s agenda include:
Finish the Dredge and Fill procedures
Plan a public forum on the Conservation Plan for January
Plan a newsletter to be mailed in February
Discuss membership in the WCC
Contact CSC about a future continuation of the town’s wetlands study
Meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Janet Howe, Secretary
