Selectmen's Meeting Minutes 6/6/07

The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm with Chairman Thompson, Selectman Clarke, Selectman Huntoon and Administrative Assistant Rhonda Gauthier in attendance.

The minutes from May 23, 2007 meeting were approved.

Accounts Payable and Payroll were approved.

Judy Hauck of Pine Hill Road met with the Board to interview for the vacant seat on the Conservation Commission.

The Board voted 3-0 in favor of appointing John Bowman of Messer Road as an alternate member on the Conservation Commission.

Gary Palumbo of Village Road was sworn in as an alternate member of the Planning Board.

Correspondence Reviewed:

·       Marc Davis sent an email to the town stating that the Historical Society has no interest in the remnants of the old schoolhouse on North Road.
·       Holden Engineering submitted a construction cost estimate.
·       Comcast had a change in their carriage.  

            Building permit applications to construct new homes were approved for James Howell    
            on Kearsarge Valley Road and Habitat for Humanity on Morey Lane.

            The Board reviewed and approved the quote for the electronics shipping container for
            transfer station.




           The Selectmen discussed the need for a special town meeting to appropriate the funds
            to replace the Kearsarge Valley Road bridge.  The Board voted 3-0 in favor to file a
            petition in Superior Court for a special town meeting to apply for and accept federal
            and state funds for the Kearsarge Valley Road Bridge replacement, and to raise and
            appropriate the additional portion of the cost of such bridge replacement.

           The Board approved a pole petition for Vadurro on Old Winslow Road.

           There was some discussion on the Capital Reserves and the Board voted to place an
            article on the warrant for 2008 to make all Capital Reserves expendable and to appoint
            the Selectmen as agents to expend.

           The title for the transfer station property was examined and there does not appear to be
            any title problems.

           The Selectmen discussed the handicap accessibility at the town hall.  The Board
           decided to look into changing the handicap access door and interior doors instead of
           changing the ramp in the front of the building.
     
           The next Selectmen's meeting will be on Friday June 15, 2007, 6:00PM.           
 
           Meeting adjourned at 9:00pm.
