Selectmen's Meeting Minutes 4/11/07

The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm with Chairman Thompson, Selectman Huntoon and Administrative Assistant Rhonda Gauthier.

The minutes from March 28, 2007 meeting were reviewed but there were changes that needed to be made.

Accounts Payable and Payroll were approved.

Review of Correspondence:

·       Donald Brady had suggestions regarding the trash compacter.  The Board will look into them.
·       Helen Chaia informed the Town of the transfer of ownership on her property on North Wilmot Road.
·       Ken Grossman suggested reappointing the members of the Conservation Commission whose terms are up.
·       The U.S. Census Bureau is having a workshop on Thursday April 19th, 2007.  Administrative Gauthier will be attending.
·       Mark Puffer sent a copy of the court order for Feins vs. Town of Wilmot.
·       Bicentennial Committee had a request to use the town green and bandstand for two separate occasions to celebrate Wilmot's Bicentennial. The first date is Monday June 18, 2007 to celebrate the town's birthday.  The second date will be August 19, 2007.  Old Home Day will be held at the town green after the church service at the Baptist Church.
·       The Board reviewed the water tests done for Pine Hill Road.  The owners of the properties were also notified by the Department of Environmental Services.
·       Holden Engineering submitted a proposal for the repair of the Shindagan Road Bridge.
·       Brenda Snyder sent an email on recommendations at the transfer station.






Building permit applications were reviewed and approved for Moore on Route 11/Village Road to convert half of his house to an apartment, the Tuppers on Shindagan Road to build a barn and the Bruces on Richards Road to demolish all the buildings on the property excluding one small shed that the Morses will be moving to Patterson Road after applying for a permit.

The Board met with Maria Pacetta from Riverview Farms on Village Road.  Ms. Pacetta informed the Board that she may be interested in converting her six apartments to condos.  The Board advised Ms. Pacetta that she will need to go to the Planning Board for a site plan review because there is no paperwork changing her bed and breakfast to apartments.

A Notice of Intent to Excavate was submitted by Russell Jewell Sr. on Route 11.

The Board approved an application for an appurtenance for 129 Village Road for a mailbox to be installed across the street.

The MS-2, "Statement of voted appropriations" was signed.

The Board reviewed a request from Robert Lee on Kearsarge Valley Road to cut down a tree in the front of his house.  The Selectmen agreed and the Road Agent both agreed that there is no hazard with that tree.

           The Administrative Assistant informed the Board that 50 more town reports were
            ordered because we ran out.

At the last Selectmen's meeting the Board had a request from the Bicentennial                             Committee to dig up the time capsule that was buried next to the town office in 1976.  The Administrative Assistant spoke to Jim Cave of New London who helped with the time capsule and who supplied the concrete burial vault.  Mr. Cave strongly recommended not opening the vault until the 100 years were up.  The vault will be damaged if it is opened now.

The Board gave its approval to order a new container for the transfer station.  This container will hold electronics, computers, etc.  The town will be charging fifteen dollars to recycle computers and refrigerators.

Selectman Thompson reported on the water resource inventory conducted in the north part of Wilmot on March 29th by Brenda Snyder and Ken Clarke of the Planning Board, Selectman Thompson and Karl  Beradi of North Country Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D). The next meeting will be on April 18 at 9:00am at the Fire House.  Selectman Huntoon will represent the Board on the field trip.



The Board reviewed the list of Board members whose terms are up and decided to wait until there is a full Board of Selectmen to make any decisions.

          The next Selectmen's meeting will be on April 18, 2007 at 6:00PM and beginning at
           6:15 the Board will interview for the vacant position of Selectman.
           Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm.
