The meeting was called to order at 6:00PM with Chairman Huntoon, Selectman Siranian & Selectman Thompson in attendance.
The Payroll and Accounts Payable manifests were signed.
Correspondence received was reviewed.
The Board met with Jesseman & Associates to review the conceptual plans of the new Wilmot Recreation Area. There is some research needed for cost of equipment, a recreation committee to be formed & many volunteers needed to make this a reality. Administrative Assistant Rhonda Gauthier will start working on these things so we can bring all the information to Town Meeting.
Julie Morse met with the Board representing the Wilmot Farmer's Market. Morse asked if the Market would be able to conduct their business on the Town Green next season. The Selectmen suggested to Mrs. Morse to see if the Community Center would like to have the Market on their property. The Board agreed that it is not a "town function" any more since many of the vendors are from out of town, therefore it is more a "community" function.
Peter Shiess met with the Selectmen to show them plans he had for the new Middle School that he thought should be built in New London.
Rick Gauthier, the Wilmot Fire Chief & Bruce Lemont, head of Wilmot Fast Squad met with the Board to ask what their opinion was if they merged into one group & was called Wilmot Fire & Rescue. Since the two departments work so closely together & count on one another it would make sense. The Board unanimously agreed that it is a practical solution but it is up to the Fire Department & Fast Squad.
The Board will meet again on December 6, 2005 at 5:00pm to meet with the School Representative, John O'Connor & the Superintendent, Tom Brennan.
