The meeting was called to order at 6:00PM with Chairman Huntoon, Selectman Lee & Selectman Siranian in attendance.
The Payroll & Accounts Payable manifests were signed.
Correspondence received was reviewed.
The Selectmen reviewed the hours & descriptions of the office staff. Selectmen Siranian proposed that we eliminate a secretary & have the administrative assistant work full time. Selectmen Huntoon advised that there should be two people in the office during open hours when possible. They decided when they do hire a secretary, that person will work 20 hours instead of 25.
The Board met with Superintendent Tom Brennan & Wilmot's school representative, John O'Connor to discuss the proposed new middle school. Brennan explained how the cost to build the middle school is increasing drastically each year. The Selectmen gave their full support.
The Budget hearing started at 7:00 PM & ended about 8:00. The Selectmen returned at 8:00 PM to finish their meeting.
At the Budget hearing there was much talk about Chief White's pay. White proposed his pay to be 44,000 & all that attended with one exception agreed that White deserves at least that amount. After some discussion the Selectmen all agreed to raise White's pay 10%, which will be 41,800. Selectmen Lee motioned to raise all employees' salaries from a 4% raise to 6% raise to make it fair & the other members of the Board agreed unanimously.
