The meeting was called to order at 6:00PM with Chairman Huntoon, Selectman Siranian & Selectman Thompson in attendance.
The Payroll & Accounts Payable manifests were signed.
Correspondence received was reviewed.
The Board approved 911 #'s for Batchelder on Quiet Cove Way and Cousineau on Grace Road.
The Board discussed the process of building permits and how they are assessed. The assessors visit the properties that have a new building permit or unfinished construction on or about April 1 of each year. Those properties are taxed on that assessment until the following April 1.
The Board also noted that an energy audit is required by law for all new construction and most additions unless exempt by the Public Utilities Commission.
The Selectmen received some complaints on cutting timber too early in the morning and on weekends. The Board is considering holding a public hearing to limit the hours of logging operations.
The Selectmen received a list of soil scientists from Christian Hartshorn regarding the property on Kearsarge Valley Road that is owned by the Lakes. None of the people on the list were local so the Selectmen asked that he call Peter Schauer of Loudon (recommended by a local wetland scientist) to perform a site specific mapping of the soils, wetlands and flood plain.
Meeting adjourned at 8:15PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Rhonda L Gauthier,
Administrative Assistant
