Friends of the Wilmot Public Library
The Friends of the Wilmot Public Library is a nonprofit organization of volunteers whose purpose is set forth in our bylaws as follows:
The purpose of this organization shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries; to focus public attention on the library, to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library; to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community; and to support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.
The current officers are: President, Carol MacDonald; Vice President, Loretta Zuger; Treasurer, Nola Aldrich; and Secretary, Kate McKibbin. There Directors are: Sharon Ames, Lynda De Costa, Terry Fiset, Dawn and Todd Hannula, Carla Marshall and Sarah O’Connor. The Directors and officers comprise the Executive Board, which works with the Wilmot Board of Library Trustees to further our mutual goals. Fund-raising activities during this year included the Awesome August Auction, book sales, pillow rentals and election-day bake sales.
Membership in the Friends is open to all, with annual dues of $3.00 per person.
Our annual meeting is held each May, and we welcome all who share an interest in our library to participate, sharing our plans and contributing your ideas of how the Friends of the Wilmot Public Library can better serve the community. The library programs enrich our community and support the partnership of volunteers of other community organizations that make Wilmot special.
We look forward to seeing you at the Wilmot Public Library, located at 11 North Wilmot Road, next to the Wilmot Town Hall. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, or Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
